About US Quidditch Cup
US Quidditch Cup is USQ’s premier event of the season. Featuring 88 teams from two divisions, collegiate and club, this is the pinnacle of the competitive season and the largest spectator event of the year. 48 collegiate teams and 24 community teams will qualify through regional championships and at-large bids and have the opportunity to compete at US Quidditch Cup to be crowned the National Champions in their division. 16 college teams will participate in the brand new open division, where they will get to play games against opponents from different regions. The tournament takes place April 17-18, 2021 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah.
US Quidditch is the national governing body for the sport of quidditch. USQ advances the sport by organizing events and programs that build community and empower adult and youth athletes of all identities, including all races and genders, to compete together. Inspired by the Harry Potter novels and founded in 2010, USQ serves almost 4,000 athletes on over 150 teams nationwide and provide a range of services, from hosting nine major tournaments and supervising regular season competition, to training and certifying referees, snitches, and tournament directors, offering grants, and working to expand the sport into younger age groups through outreach programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. US Quidditch is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
